A workshop on commoning, infrastructures, and making time and space for alternative ways and workings
Facilitated by Amy Gowen.
How can we make space and time for alternative ways and workings, in our work, our learning and our practice?
How can we ensure practices of commoning permeate into formal and informal environments and settings?
How can we produce organisational models that are porous to alternative modes of production and circulation of knowledge?
How can self-organised practices and principles inform organisations and institutions no matter the scale or size?
These questions form the guiding basis for the workshop “The Infrastructural Biotope. A workshop on commoning, infrastructures, and making time and space for alternative ways and workings”, facilitated by Amy Gowen, who will introduce participants to her ongoing research and methods for working with alternative infrastructures and modes of commoning as part of organisational practice. Before we together devise a working biotope for an alternative commons-based infrastructure.
This biotope will not only directly respond to the needs, wishes and desires of attending participants, but will look directly to the core themes of the workshop: ways and workings as navigational tools, alternative forms of knowledge production and circulation, commoning practices, and formal and informal infrastructural conditions.
As such, the workshop aims to not only devise a collective working model that is both scalable and adaptable for different contexts, but to introduce patterns, practices and methods that participants can introduce directly into their working environments, own practices and learning.
Who is it for?
Those interested in organisational models across scales and settings; from artists and practitioners, to collectives, to those involved in organisations and institutions at multiple levels, are invited to join to think through the infrastructural conditions of space, time, relations, method, learning & reflection, and produce an alternative infrastructural biotope for working and learning together.
Free entrance - Registration in advance is required.
Limited seats.
