Pending Personas
Sunday, 5 September, 13:30 - 15:30 / Kijkhuis 1
Personas mediate between the self and the other. Quite often, they are masks that are imposed upon us by society. When those masks make contact with our porous sense of self, a struggle for identification arises. In this session, we explore what it means to become alienated from oneself, and to struggle to perceive the authentic self in others. The characters portrayed in these films traverse the depths of identity and attempt to unearth the truths that hide behind their masks.
