Director Biography
After studying law, Xavier joined the IAD (Belgium). Early, he had a predilection for black humour and a tendency to shoot in black and white. In 2005, Nothing insoluble, his graduation film was selected at the Venice Mostra. He directed The crab with Christophe Hermans and wrote With the Dust by Jacques Molitor (Locarno selection). In 2014, he directed Dreamcatchers with Cédric Bourgeois, a documentary about Belgian wrestlers. From 2011, he made several short films with Méryl Fortunat-Rossi: Moonshine, The Black Bear (230 selections including Clermont-Ferrand as well as forty awards including a Silver Méliès and the Magritte for best short fiction film) or The Plumber (22 prizes including, once again, the Magritte for best short fiction film). He collaborates in the writing of shorts such as Kapitalistis by Pablo Munoz Gomes (awarded in many festivals, especially in Locarno) or Vihta by François Bierry (Special Jury Prize in Clermont-Ferrand).
