Director Biography

Leonardo Martinelli is 21. He is a director, screenwriter and producer. He made the films Vidas Cinzas (2017), Lembra (2018), Copacabana Madureira (2019) and O Prazer de Matar Insetos (2020). He is a Master's candidate in Social Communication, graduated in Cinema / Audiovisual and technician in Screenplay for Digital Media. His shorts have been shown at more than three hundred film festivals and museums around the world, having won more than forty awards on several continents. In 2018, he was awarded at the Festival do Rio, one of the most important cinema events in Latin America. In 2020, through a vote among several film critics, Leonardo Martinelli was selected as one of the Top 10 New Brazilian Filmmakers by Papo de Cinema.
