El Canto de las Moscas III - Noche

The experimental animated film, El Canto de las Moscas, translates the desolation caused by the violence of the Colombian armed conflict through the poetic voice of Maria Mercedes Carranza (1945-2003) and the audiovisual dialogue between 9 Colombian artists.

Director Biography

Ana María Vallejo (born 1983) is a Colombian artist and filmmaker living and working in Weimar, Germany. In her films, she experiments with analogue materials and formats. After completing her master's degree in Media Art and Design, she collaborated as a freelancer in the production of 2D digital animations, and stop-motion films. In 2016 her film "Love in Nine Postcards around the world" won first prize in the national competition of the Bogota Short film Festival. Between 2017-2020, she taught experimental animation at Bauhaus University Weimar (Chair of Multimedia Storytelling). She's a collaborator of the International Poetry Film Festival of Thuringia and co-founder of the Weimar Animation Club. In 2020 participated in the International Animated Film Workshop in Krakow with Professor Jerzy Kucia.
